District Museum
There are few tourist sights in Diphu as the District Museum which is known for its collection of tribal ornaments, textiles, handloom etc. The museum was built in 1886 and is predominantly famous for a 13th century image of Lord Narasimha. The museum with its age old artifacts successfully preserves the ancestry of the town keeping the roots alive. People visiting Diphu must never miss out on the museum.
Botanical Garden in Diphu
There is a Botanical garden well
known for the rare species of plants and trees present
there. It is situated around 5 kms. away from Diphu town.
Flowers and plants of different species are found here such
ranging from medicinal plants to herbs. There is boating
facility in the garden as well and people come to have a
good time with their family in the garden.
Arboretum in Diphu
Spread over 13 hectares of land, there is
also a beautiful arboretum which is the consequence of
wonderful panning. It is one of the much favored picnic
spots in Diphu and is situated only 8 kms. away from Diphu
town. It is a colorful paradise maintained superbly by the
forest department of the area.
Umwang
Another favourite among tourists in Diphu is Umwang which has a scenic environment spread over 35 sq. kms and surrounded by rivers on all sides. Tourists visiting the place can enjoy certain adventure activities such as rafting, hang gliding, horse riding amongst others. The great ambiance of the place gives one the zest to involve in all the activities of the place. There is also a golf ground here where one can enjoy the sport.
Singhason
This is the perfect place for adventure seekers for one can go for a trek trip in this place. At an altitude of 1600 meters, adventure lovers would love to pack their bags and venture out on their own in this area, also, the fact that it is still a virgin place is an additional bonus to the place. Once the top of the hill is reached one can have the stunning view of the river Brahmaputra up there and also the Himalayan ranges and Patkai ranges.
Diphu is heaven for the bird watchers for many migratory birds can be seen in and around the place. The famous Kaziranga wildlife sanctuary is also very near to Diphu town. Diphu is one of the well known hill stations where one can go for honeymoon and enjoy the scenic beauty here. One of the best hill stations in Assam, Diphu is turning into a very good tourist attraction spot owing to its great nature and mesmeric locations.
